Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1127 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ رِضْوَانِ اللهِ مَا يَظُنُّ أَنَّهَا تَبْلُغُ مَا بَلَغَتْ يَكْتُبُ اللهُ لَهُ بِهَا رِضْوَانَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ، وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ سَخَطِ اللهِ مَا يَظُنُّ أَنْ تَبْلُغَ مَا بَلَغَتْ فَيَكْتُبُ اللهُ بِهَا عَلَيْهِ سَخَطَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ»
Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A man speaks a word that pleases Allah, not even imagining how far it has reached, and Allah, because of it, writes for him His pleasure until the day he meets Him. And a man speaks a word that angers Allah, not even imagining how far it will reach, and Allah, because of it, writes against him His displeasure until the day he meets Him."
