حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَتَّاتُ الْكُوفِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْخَلِيلِ الْخَزَّازُ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «مِنَ السُّنَّةِ أَنْ لَا تَخْرُجَ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ حَتَّى تُخْرِجَ الصَّدَقَةَ، وَتُطْعِمَ شَيْئًا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: It is from the Sunnah that, on the day of Eid al-Fitr, the charity (sadaqat al-fitr) is paid before going out, and that something is eaten before going out.
