Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11237 — a Bedouin came to him and asked

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، ثنا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ، ثنا هُذَيْلُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ أَبِي بَزَّةَ، وَعَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، يُحَدِّثَانِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا، أَتَاهُ فاستسقاهُ فَسُقِي نَبِيذًا فَقَالَ: مَا شَأْنُ إِخْوَانِكُمْ يَسْقُونَ الْعَسَلَ وَاللَّبَنَ وَتَسْقُونَ أَنْتُمُ النَّبِيذَ؟ فَقَالَ: أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا بُخْلٌ وَلَكِنِ «اسْتَسْقَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَقَيْنَاهُ نَبِيذًا» فَقَالَ: أَحْسَنْتُمْ وَأَجْمَلْتُمْ هَكَذَا فَافْعَلُوا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a Bedouin came to him and asked for a drink, and he was given nabidh to drink. He said: "What is the matter with your brothers, that they give honey and milk to drink while you give nabidh?" Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "It is not that we are miserly; rather (the matter is that) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for a drink, and we gave him nabidh to drink." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have done well and done beautifully; do so likewise."
