Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Last night I saw in a dream as though I was praying beside a tree, and as though I recited Surah al-Sajdah, so I prostrated, and I saw that the tree prostrated along with my prostration, and it was as though I heard it (the tree) saying: 'O Allah, record for me a reward with You because of this prostration, remove a sin from me through it, make it a treasure for me with You, and accept it from me as You accepted it from Your servant Dawud (peace be upon him).'" Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah al-Sajdah, and I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) saying in his prostration the same words that the man had reported of the tree's saying.
