Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1111 — about his paternal uncle Abu Idris

Abu Raja' narrates about his paternal uncle Abu Idris that he was sitting in Damascus on a cold day performing ablution, when Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), the mu'adhdhin of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), passed by him. He asked: O Bilal! How did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution? He said: "He would wipe over the leather socks and the turban."
