Tawus from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10812 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was commanded
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، وَأَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، قَالُوا: ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: «أُمِرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعٍ، وَنُهِي أَنْ يَكُفَّ شَعْرَهُ، وَثِيَابَهُ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was commanded to prostrate on seven limbs, and was forbidden to gather up his hair or his clothes.
