حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُجَاشِعِيُّ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ الْكَرْمَانِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّا مَعَاشِرَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نُعَجِّلَ الْإِفْطَارَ، وَأَنْ نُؤَخِّرَ السَّحُورَ، وَأَنْ نَضْرِبَ بِأَيْمَانِنَا عَلَى شمائِلِنا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We, the community of prophets, have been commanded to hasten the breaking of the fast, to delay the pre-dawn meal (suhur), and to place our right hands on our left hands (in prayer)."
