حَدَّثَنَا الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ، فَقَرَأَ فَاتِحَةَ الْكِتَابِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّهُ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ
Talhah bin Abdullah bin Awf narrates: I prayed a funeral prayer with Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he recited Surah al-Fatihah. I asked him about this, and he said: It is part of the Sunnah.
