It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say twelve takbirs in the two Eids: seven in the first rak'ah and five in the second rak'ah; and he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) would go (to the Eid prayer ground) by one route and return by another.
