حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي فَأَقْبَلَ فَلَقِيَنَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، فَسَأَلَهُ أَبِي وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ: أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ دَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: «دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ أُسَامَةَ، وَبِلَالٍ» فَلَمَّا خَرَجَا سَأَلْتُهُمَا: أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَا: «عَلَى جِهَتِهِ»
One of the narrators said: I was with my father, and we came along and met Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). My father asked him while I was listening: Where did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pray when he entered the House (the Ka'bah)? Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered between Usamah and Bilal." Then when the two of them came out, I asked them: Where did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pray? They both said: "In the direction he was facing."
