It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he said: 'Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah' (Allah hears the one who praises Him), would say: 'Allahumma rabbana wa lakal-hamd, mil'as-samawati wa mil'a ma baynahuma wa mil'a ma shi'ta min shay'in ba'd, ahlath-thana'i wa ahlal-kibriya'i wal-majd, la mani'a lima a'tayta, wa la yanfa'u dhal-jaddi minkal-jadd' (O Allah, our Lord, to You belongs all praise, filling the heavens, filling what is between them, and filling whatever else You will thereafter; O You who are worthy of praise, O Possessor of grandeur and glory! None can withhold what You give, and the rank of one who has rank avails him nothing against You).
