Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10471 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The first

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ، وَماهرُ بْنُ نُوحٍ، قَالَا: ثنا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، ثنا عَوْنُ بْنُ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ رَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ أَوَّلَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ خِيَارُهُمْ، وَآخِرَهُمْ شِرَارُهُمْ مُخْتَلِفِينَ مُتَفَرِّقِينَ، فَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَأْتِهِ مَنِيَّتُهُ وَهُوَ يَأْتِي إِلَى النَّاسِ مَا يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُؤْتَى إِلَيْهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first people of this Ummah are its best, and its last people will be its worst, differing and divided. So whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let his death come to him while he is treating people the way he would love to be treated."
