Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10437 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would take

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْبَرَاءِ، ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْمُعَلَّى بْنِ عِرْفَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَنَفَّسُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَنْفَاسٍ، يُسَمِّي عِنْدَ كُلِّ نَفَسٍ، وَيَشْكُرُ فِي آخِرِهِنَّ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would take three breaths (while drinking) from the vessel, saying Bismillah with each breath and saying Alhamdulillah at the last of them.
