Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10345 — the Prophet ﷺ said: Our Lord marvels

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Our Lord marvels at two men: one is a man who rises from his bed and his blanket, leaving his beloved and his family, for his prayer. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says to His angels: 'Look at My servant; he has risen from his bed and his blanket, from his beloved and his family, (and come) to his prayer, out of longing for what is with Me and out of fear of what is with Me.' The other is a man who fights in the path of Allah and is routed, then he realises what (burden) lies upon him in fleeing and what (reward) is his in returning, so he returns until his blood is shed. Allah Almighty says to His angels: 'Look at My servant; he returned out of longing for what is with Me and out of fear of what is with Me, until his blood was shed.'"
