Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Since I accepted Islam I have never told a lie except once. I used to saddle the mount of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A man from the people of Ta'if came and asked me: "Which saddle does the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) like best?" I said: "The bent saddle made in Ta'if," though he (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked it. When that saddle was brought, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who saddled this?" The people said: "The one who saddles for you." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tell Ibn Umm Abd to saddle (it himself)." So the saddling was entrusted back to me.
