حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، أنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ النَّحْوِيُّ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ؟ فَقَالَ: «قَرْنِي، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ قَوْمٌ يَسْبِقُ شَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ يَمِينَهُ، وَيَمِينُهُ شَهَادَتَهُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Which people are the best? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then there will come people, the testimony of one of whom will precede his oath, and his oath will precede his testimony."
