Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at the slain on the day of Badr, he said to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): "If Abu Talib were alive, he would know that our swords have reached the chiefs (of the enemy). And this is what Abu Talib said:
(Al-Bahr al-Tawil)
By the House of Allah, you have lied! If what I see proves true, our swords will surely become entangled with (your) chiefs,
And a people clad in armour will rise against you, as water-carrying camels rise on a broad road."
Ibn Manadhir said: Both words have the same meaning; people say both "halahil" and "jalajil".
