Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10216 — In the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا مُحْرِزُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: «كُنَّا نُسَمِّيهَا فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَانِعَةَ، وَإِنَّهَا فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ سُورَةٌ، مِنْ قَرَأَ بِهَا فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ فَقَدْ أَكْثَرَ وَأَطْيَبَ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) we used to call it (Surah al-Mulk) 'al-Mani'ah' (the Protector). It is a surah in the Book of Allah; whoever recites it every night has done much and done excellently."
