حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ السَّمَّانُ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ ابْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، وَأَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: " كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَيَاضِ خَدَّيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ: «السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ» ، وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ: «السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is as if I am still looking at the whiteness of the cheeks of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as he gave the salam to his right: "As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh (Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings)," and to his left: "As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah, as-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah (Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah, peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah)."
