حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: مَا نَسِيتُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ: «السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I have not forgotten this about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): that he would give the salam to his right and to his left: "As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah, as-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah (Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah, peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah)."
