حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " سَمِعْتُ خَشْفَةً أَمَامِي حِينَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ، فَقُلْتُ: مَنْ هَذَا؟ " قَالُوا: بِلَالٌ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ: «بِمَ تَسْبِقُنِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ؟» فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا أَحْدَثْتُ إِلَّا تَوَضَّأْتُ، وَلَا تَوَضَّأْتُ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ عَلَى أَثَرِ الْوُضُوءِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When I entered Paradise, I heard the sound of footsteps ahead of me, so I asked: Who is this?" They said: Bilal. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) told Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "How did you get ahead of me into Paradise?" Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: O Messenger of Allah! Whenever I lost my ablution, I did not remain without performing ablution, and whenever I performed ablution, I did not remain without praying two rak'ahs after it.
