Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us the Khutbat al-Hajah (sermon for a need): "All praise belongs to Allah; we praise Him and seek His help. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no true god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. 'O you who believe, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice' [Surah al-Ahzab: 70] to the end of the verse; 'O you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims' [Surah Al Imran: 102]; 'O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you' [Surah al-Nisa: 1] to the end of the verse. Amma ba'd (to proceed)."
