حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا حَبِيبُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: لَمَّا مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ: انْكَسَفَتْ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ابْنِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِمَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَنْجَلِيَ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that on the day Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), the son of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), died, there was a solar eclipse that same day. The people said: This eclipse has occurred because of the death of Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sun and the moon are not eclipsed because of anyone's death or life. When you see that, pray until the eclipse is over."
