Mishkat al-Masabih 4758 — Changing the name Asiya
وَعَن ابْن عمر أَنَّ بِنْتًا كَانَتْ لِعُمَرَ يُقَالُ لَهَا: عَاصِيَةُ فَسَمَّاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جميلَة. رَوَاهُ مُسلم
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that a daughter of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was called Asiyah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) changed her name to Jameelah. Narrated by Muslim.
