The Book of Prayer
(إِذَا كَانَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَلْيُصَلِّيَا جَمَاعَةً)
(If there are two men, they should pray in congregation)
Mishkat al-Masabih 1081 — If there are two men, they should pray
وَعَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اثْنَانِ فَمَا فَوْقهمَا جمَاعَة» . رَوَاهُ ابْن مَاجَه
Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Two and over constitute a congregation.” Ibn Majah transmitted it.
