بَابُ التَّرْهِيبِ مِنْ الغفلة عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى

قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، ثَنَا الْأَفْرِيقِيُّ ، عَنْ حُدَيْجِ بْنِ صَوْمِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْغَفْلَةُ فِي ثَلَاثٍ : عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَحِينَ يُصَلَّى الصُّبْحُ إِلَى أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ ، وَغَفْلَةُ الْإِنْسَانِ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ حَتَّى يَرْكَبَهُ الدَّيْنُ " .
3336 \ 2 - وَقَالَ عَبْدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، بِهِ .
3336 \ 2 - وَقَالَ عَبْدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، بِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Heedlessness and negligence take three forms: being heedless of the remembrance of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic; being heedless during the time from the performance of the Fajr prayer until sunrise; and a person being so unaware of himself and his financial state that he is crushed under the burden of debt."
Imam Ahmad bin Mani' from Shuja' bin al-Walid, and Imam Abd bin Humayd through Abdullah bin Yazid al-Muqri, both by way of Abd al-Rahman bin Ziyad al-Ifriqi, recorded this hadith.

وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، ثَنَا صَاحِبٌ لَنَا ثِقَةٌ ثِقَةٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ : عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ عَنْ شَيْخٍ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ: زُبَيْدٌ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً يَخْتِمُهُ فِي يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ ، وَعِشْرِينَ سَنَةً يَخْتِمُهُ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ وَلَيْلَتَيْنِ ، قَالَ : وَاللهِ لَكَأَنَّ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ نُورًا ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أَنِسَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ غِرَّةً أَوْ غَفْلَةً نَادَى فِيهِمْ بِأَعْلَى صَوْتِهِ " أَتَتْكُمُ الْمَنِيَّةُ رَاتِبَةً إِمَّا شِقْوَةٌ ، وَإِمَّا سَعَادَةٌ " .
قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ : وَقَالَ لَنَا هَذَا الشَّيْخُ : أَنَا الْعَامَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي الْعَامَ الْأَوَّلَ ، كَانَتْ لِي الْعَامَ الْأَوَّلَ شَاةٌ ، وَلَيْسَ لِي الْعَامَ شَاةٌ وَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ : أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً ، فَادْعُ اللهَ تَعَالَى لِي أَنْ يُزَوِّجَنِي امْرَأَةً صَالِحَةً قَالَ : فَدَعَا اللهَ تَعَالَى فَهُيِّئَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَةٌ صَالِحَةٌ .
قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ : وَقَالَ لَنَا هَذَا الشَّيْخُ : أَنَا الْعَامَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي الْعَامَ الْأَوَّلَ ، كَانَتْ لِي الْعَامَ الْأَوَّلَ شَاةٌ ، وَلَيْسَ لِي الْعَامَ شَاةٌ وَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ : أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً ، فَادْعُ اللهَ تَعَالَى لِي أَنْ يُزَوِّجَنِي امْرَأَةً صَالِحَةً قَالَ : فَدَعَا اللهَ تَعَالَى فَهُيِّئَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَةٌ صَالِحَةٌ .
It is narrated from an elder of Banu Sulaym named Zubayd, who for twenty years kept completing the Qur'an once every day and night, and then for another twenty years kept the practice of completing the Qur'an once every two days and two nights. (The narrator said:) By Allah, his face had such radiance that it was as though light were pouring from it. He related that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sensed any inattention or heedlessness among his Companions, he would call out to them in a very loud voice, warning them: "Death has come to you at its appointed time, bringing (with it) either wretchedness and misfortune or felicity and good fortune."
Umar bin Hafs related that this elder said to us: I am in a better state this year than last year, because last year I had a goat, while this year I have no goat. Also, a man said to him: I intend to marry a woman; supplicate to Allah Almighty for me that He marries me to a righteous and pious woman. So he supplicated to Allah Almighty, and a match with a righteous, virtuous woman was made available for that man.
