بَابُ حَدِّ الْحَرَمِ

قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّبِيَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ هُوَ أَوَّلُ مَنْ نَصَبَ الْأَنْصَابَ لِلْحَرَمِ ، أَشَارَ لَهُ جِبْرِيلُ إِلَى مَوَاضِعِهَا .
It is narrated from Muhammad bin al-Aswad (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Prophet of Allah, Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him), was the very first to set up the markers of the boundaries of the Haram, and Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) guided him by pointing out the designated places of those markers.
قَالَ : وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَيْضًا : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ تَمِيمَ بْنَ أَسِيدٍ جَدَّ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، فَحَدَّدَهَا .
The narrator relates: I was also informed that on the occasion of the Conquest of Makkah the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Tamim bin Asid (may Allah be pleased with him), the grandfather of Abd al-Rahman bin al-Muttalib bin Tamim, (to restore the markers of the boundaries of the Haram), so he re-established and set up those markers anew.
According to the commentators of hadith, this refers to the renewal and repair of the ancient boundaries of the Haram of Makkah that Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had fixed under the guidance of Jibril (peace be upon him), so that the sanctity of the boundaries of the Haram would be preserved and no doubt would remain in identifying them.

وَقَالَ أَيْضًا : حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَخْضَرِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدَتْ قُرَيْشٌ حَجَرًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِيهِ كِتَابٌ ، فَجَعَلُوا يُخْرِجُونَهُ إِلَى مَنْ أَتَاهُمْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُتُبِ ، فَلَا يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِيهِ ، حَتَّى أَتَاهُمْ حَبْرٌ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ ، فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَإِذَا فِيهِ : أَنَا اللهُ ذُو بَكَّةَ صَنَعْتُهَا حِينَ صَنَعْتُ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ، وَبَارَكْتُ لِأَهْلِهَا فِي اللَّحْمِ وَاللَّبَنِ وَفِي الصَّفْحِ الْآخَرِ : أَنَا اللهُ ذُو بَكَّةَ ، خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنِ اسْمِي ، فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ ، وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ ، وَفِي الصَّفْحِ الْآخَرِ : أَنَا اللهُ ذُو بَكَّةَ ، خَلَقْتُ الْخَيْرَ وَالشَّرَّ ، فَطُوبَى لِمَنْ كَانَ الْخَيْرُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ ، وَوَيْلٌ لِمَنْ كَانَ الشَّرُّ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the Days of Ignorance Quraysh found a stone at the Station of Ibrahim on which some writing was engraved. They would present this writing to every one of the People of the Book who came to them, but they were unable to read it, until a learned scholar from Yemen came to them and read the text out to them. In it was written: "I am Allah, the Lord of Bakkah [Al Imran: 96]. I made this city at the time when I created the sun and the moon, and I have decreed blessing for its inhabitants in meat and milk." And on the second side of the stone was written: "I am Allah, the Lord of Bakkah. I created the womb (kinship) and derived its name from My own name. So whoever joins it, I will join him (with My mercy), and whoever severs it, I will cut him off." And on its third side was inscribed: "I am Allah, the Lord of Bakkah. I created good and evil. So glad tidings to the one at whose hands good is made to flow, and woe to the one at whose hands evil is made to flow."
وَقَالَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ فِي الْمَعْرِفَةِ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ هُوَ أَبُو الشَّيْخِ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رُسْتَهْ ، ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَالِكٍ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ، ثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ خُثَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطُّفَيْلِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ تَمِيمَ بْنَ أَسِيدٍ الْخُزَاعِيَّ يُجَدِّدُ أَنْصَابَ الْحَرَمِ ، وَكَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَضَعَهَا ، يُرِيهَا إِيَّاهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Sayyiduna Tamim bin Asid al-Khuza'i (may Allah be pleased with him) to renew and repair the markers of the boundaries of the Haram; and those markers had first been set up by Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him), whose places Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) had pointed out to him.
وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الضَّحَّاكِ ، ثَنَا أَبِي ، ثَنَا عِمْرَانُ الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنِ اسْتَحَلَّ شَيْئًا مِنْ حُدُودِ مَكَّةَ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللهِ . الْحَدِيثَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever treats as lawful anything forbidden within the boundaries and sanctity of Makkah, upon him is the curse of Allah."
