بَابُ كَرَاهِيَةِ رَفْعِ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ

قَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ : شَاذَانُ ، نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ زِيَادٌ إِلَى أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ : اقْرَأْ ، فَقَرَأَ ، فَرَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ ، فَرَفَعَ أَنَسٌ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ الْخِرْقَةَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ صُعُدًا ، فَقَالَ : أَهَكَذَا تَصْنَعُونَ ؟ ! .
قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : فَحَدَّثَنِي مَنْ شَهِدَ الْحَسَنَ ، قَالَ : رَفَعَ إِنْسَانٌ صَوْتَهُ عِنْدَ الْحَسَنِ ، فَرَفَعَ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصًى فَضَرَبَ وَجْهَهُ ، وَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا ؟ ! .
قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : فَحَدَّثَنِي مَنْ شَهِدَ الْحَسَنَ ، قَالَ : رَفَعَ إِنْسَانٌ صَوْتَهُ عِنْدَ الْحَسَنِ ، فَرَفَعَ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصًى فَضَرَبَ وَجْهَهُ ، وَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا ؟ ! .
Ubaydullah bin Abi Bakr bin Anas relates that Ziyad came to Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said to him: "Recite." So he began reciting and raised his voice very loudly. At this, Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) lifted the cloth upward from his face and said (expressing his disapproval): "Is this how you people recite (shouting)?!"
Hammad said: Someone who was present with Imam al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) told me that a man raised his voice in the gathering of Imam al-Hasan al-Basri, so he picked up a handful of pebbles, threw them at his face and said (sternly): "What kind of conduct is this?!"

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ، ثَنَا عَنْبَسَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ - وَالنَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ - فَقَالَ : لَا يَجْهَرْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ ، فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يُؤْذِي الْمُصَلِّيَ .
( 28 ) وَحَدِيثُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ تَقَدَّمَ قَرِيبًا .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us on one of the nights of Ramadan while the people were praying, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should raise his voice (in recitation) over another, for indeed doing so causes harm to the one praying and disturbs his concentration."
And the blessed hadith of Imam al-Harith narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) has passed shortly before.
