وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مُجَالِدٌ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - قَالَ : أَوْصَانِي عُمَرُ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : إِذَا وَضَعْتَنِي فِي لَحْدِي فَافْضِ بِخَدِّي إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ، حَتَّى لَا يَكُونَ بَيْنَ جِلْدِي وَبَيْنَ الْأَرْضِ شَيْءٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him) made a bequest to me, saying: "When you place me in my lahd (grave niche), lay my cheek against the earth, so that nothing comes between my skin and the ground."
