وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، ثَنَا الْمُنْذِرُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : " إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا انْتَبَهَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ دَعَا جَارِيَةً يُقَالُ لَهَا : بَرِيرَةُ - بِالسِّوَاكِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that "it was the blessed practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he (peace and blessings be upon him) woke from sleep at night, he would call one of his servant girls, whose name was Barirah, to bring the siwak."
