حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، ثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ : قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah al-Baqarah [Surah al-Baqarah: 1], dividing it over two rak'ahs (of the prayer)."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), and Imam Abu Ubayd al-Qasim bin Sallam recorded it in his book Fada'il al-Qur'an (hadith number: 581).
