وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ هَكَذَا ، وَأَمَرَّ حَفْصٌ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ حَتَّى مَسَحَ قَفَاهُ " .
58 \ 2 - وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : حَدَّثَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، ثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِلَفْظِ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ ، فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِ ، ثُمَّ رَدَّهَا إِلَى قَفَاهُ ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَهَا مِنْ تَحْتِ الْحَنَكِ " .
58 \ 2 - وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : حَدَّثَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، ثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِلَفْظِ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ ، فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِ ، ثُمَّ رَدَّهَا إِلَى قَفَاهُ ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَهَا مِنْ تَحْتِ الْحَنَكِ " .
Talhah narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution, and he wiped his head like this." And (the narrator of the hadith) Hafs demonstrated the practical method by passing his hand over his head until he wiped the nape of his neck. Abd bin Humayd also narrated it through Hafs bin Ghiyath with these words: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution; he placed his blessed hand on top of his head, then brought it back to the nape of his neck, and then brought it out passing beneath his chin."
