It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and they did not raise their hands except at the beginning of the prayer (the opening takbir), (nowhere else during the prayer)."
And in one narration the wording is: "They did not raise their hands after the first takbir."
The compilers of the Sunan recorded it with this wording: "He (peace and blessings be upon him) did not raise his hands except at the first takbir."
