It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) (the narrator thinks that he attributed it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until Allah Almighty sends a red wind from the direction of Yemen; then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will gather up (take the soul of) every soul that believes in Allah Almighty and the Last Day through this wind. The people will not perceive the destructiveness of this (wind), because the number of those dying in it (at one time) will seem small; there will only be (talk among the people) that an old man died among Banu so-and-so and an old woman died among Banu so-and-so. And one night the Book of Allah Almighty (the Noble Qur'an) will be taken away; it will be raised up towards the heaven, and not a single verse of it will remain on the earth. And the earth will throw out the pieces of its liver, that is, gold and silver (in the form of treasures), but after that day no benefit will be derived from them, so much so that a man will pass by there, kick these (treasures) with his feet and say: For the sake of this (wealth) the people before us used to kill one another, and today it is in such a state that no benefit is being derived from it."
[Al-Hakim recorded it in al-Mustadrak 'ala al-Sahihayn: 8475, and said: This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, and they (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it; and al-Dhahabi agreed with him.]
