قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : يَكُونُ خَسْفٌ بِالْمَشْرِقِ ، قِيلَ : الْخَسْفُ بِأَرْضٍ فِيهَا الْمُسْلِمُونَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، إِذَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُ عَمَلِهِمُ الْخَبَثَ .
Yahya bin Sa'id narrates from an elder that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon a swallowing up of the earth (khasf) will take place in the East." It was asked: Will the earth swallow up a land in which Muslims also live? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, that will happen when wickedness (sin, immorality and evil) prevails in their deeds."
