وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : إِنِّي لَأَسِيرُ مَعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ مُنْصَرَفَهُ مِنْ صِفِّينَ ، بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، إِذْ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا : يَا أَبَتِ ! أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : وَيْحَكَ يَا ابْنَ سُمَيَّةَ ، تَقْتُلُكَ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: On the return from the Battle of Siffin I was riding with Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), between him and Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him), when Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) said (addressing his father): "O my father! Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Alas, O son of Sumayyah (Ammar)! A rebellious group will kill you'?"
