It is narrated from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli, Amr bin Hurayth and others that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will soon come to a people whose hair is curly, so accept my counsel to treat them well, for they will be a source of strength for you and, by the permission of Allah Almighty, an excellent means (of attaining victory and success) against your enemies." The narrator says: This refers to the Copts of Egypt.
Ibn Hibban recorded it in his Sahih from Abu Ya'la. Moreover, Abu Abd al-Rahman is without doubt a Successor (tabi'i), and Amr bin Hurayth is not the well-known Makhzumi Companion; rather, he is another narrator whose being a Companion is disputed (among the scholars).
