وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَثَلُ أَصْحَابِي مَثَلُ الْمِلْحِ فِي الطَّعَامِ ، لَا يَصْلُحُ الطَّعَامُ إِلَّا بِالْمِلْحِ .
4170 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْبَزَّارُ : حَدَّثَنَا طَلِيقُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ بِهِ .
وَقَالَ : تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، وَلَيْسَ بِالْحَافِظِ .
4170 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْبَزَّارُ : حَدَّثَنَا طَلِيقُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ بِهِ .
وَقَالَ : تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، وَلَيْسَ بِالْحَافِظِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of my Companions is like salt in food, and food is not right and tasty without salt."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated it via Suwayd bin Sa'id, Abu Mu'awiyah, Isma'il and al-Hasan al-Basri from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). Imam al-Bazzar also transmitted it via Taliq bin Muhammad from Abu Mu'awiyah with the same chain, and he made clear that the narrator named Isma'il is alone in transmitting this narration and that he is not a hafiz, that is, not a strong narrator.
