وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَا تَزَالُونَ بِخَيْرٍ مَا دَامَ فِيكُمْ مَنْ رَآنِي وَصَاحَبَنِي ، وَاللهِ لَا تَزَالُونَ بِخَيْرٍ مَا دَامَ فِيكُمْ مَنْ رَأَى مَنْ رَآنِي وَصَاحَبَ مَنْ صَاحَبَنِي .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will continue to be in goodness as long as there remains among you someone who saw me and kept my company. And by Allah, you will continue to remain upon goodness as long as there remains among you someone who saw the one who saw me, and kept the company of the one who kept my company."
Imam Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah narrated this hadith; its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), and on the basis of other supporting reports this narration reaches the level of sahih or hasan.
