وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ سَلَّامٍ الطَّوِيلِ ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : مَثَلُ أَصْحَابِي فِي أُمَّتِي مَثَلُ النُّجُومِ يَهْتَدُونَ بِهَا ، إِذَا غَابَتْ تَحَيَّرُوا .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of my Companions in my Ummah is like that of the stars by which people find guidance (in the darkness); when those stars disappear (from sight), people fall into bewilderment and confusion."
