It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever would be pleased to look at a man some of whose limbs have preceded him to Paradise, let him look at Zayd bin Suhan (may Allah be pleased with him)."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated it; its chain contains the narrator al-Hudhayl bin Bilal, whose memory the hadith scholars have criticised. However, this virtue of Zayd bin Suhan (may Allah be pleased with him) is also reported from other historical sources, (namely) that his hand was cut off in battle in jihad and had already become deserving of Paradise.
