وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، ثَنَا فُضَيْلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ رَجَعْتُ مِنْ جِنَازَةٍ قَوْلًا مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِي بِهِ الدُّنْيَا جَمِيعًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "At the time when I was returning from a funeral, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said something to me such that I would not like to have the whole world in exchange for it."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated this hadith in his Musnad. In its chain there is criticism of the memory of the narrator Abu Hariz (Abdullah bin Husayn); however, Imam Ibn Ma'in declared him thiqah (trustworthy), and a hadith scholar of the great stature of Shu'bah bin al-Hajjaj narrated from him; therefore this chain is of hasan (good) grade.
