It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to eat garlic," and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said (because of the hurt its smell causes the angels): "Were it not that the angel descends to me (with revelation), I would certainly eat it."
The hadith of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the dislike of sleeping in the mosque will come in the chapter on the virtues of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
