It is narrated from Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Amrah that he said: "When it is the middle of the night, an angel appears and calls out: 'Sabbihu al-Malik al-Quddus' (All of you, glorify and declare the purity of the True King, the Most Holy). Then another angel appears and he too says the same: 'Sabbihu al-Malik al-Quddus' (All of you, glorify the King, the Most Holy). At that time (hearing the glorification of the angels) the birds move their wings. Then another angel appears and calls out: 'Ya baghiya al-khayri halumm' (O seeker of good! Come forward and turn your attention). Then another angel appears and says: 'Ya baghiya al-sharri aqsir' (O seeker of evil! Restrain (yourself) and desist). Then another angel appears and implores: 'Allahumma aj'al li-munfiqin khalafa' (O Allah, grant the one who spends in Your way the best replacement for it). Then another angel appears and calls out: 'Allahumma aj'al li-mumsikin talafa' (O Allah, decree ruin and destruction for the one who withholds wealth and is miserly)."
Imam Musaddad recorded this athar (report) in his Musnad; all its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), and this report has the ruling of being marfu' (attributed to the Prophet).
