وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيِّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : مَا عُبِدَ اللهُ تَعَالَى بِشَيْءٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ فِقْهٍ فِي دِينٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has not been worshipped and served with anything more excellent and superior than acquiring deep understanding (fiqh, profound insight) in the religion."
Ibn Abi Umar narrated this hadith through Yusuf bin Khalid, Maslamah al-Qa'nabi and Nafi'.
