قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَادِيثَ سَمِعْتُهَا وَحَفِظْتُهَا ، فَمَا يَمْنَعُنِي أَنْ يُحَدَّثَ بِهَا ، إِلَّا أَنِّي أَرَى أَصْحَابِي يُخَالِفُونِي فِيهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I heard many hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which I listened to (with great attention) and also preserved (in my heart). Now nothing prevents me from narrating these hadith except that I see my other companions differ with me in narrating them."
