قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ قَالَ : كَانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ يَتَحَدَّثُ فَيَضْحَكُ ، فَإِذَا جَاءَ الْحَدِيثُ خَشَعَ .
صَحِيحٌ مَوْقُوفٌ .

It is narrated from Husayn al-Mu'allim (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) would converse (in ordinary circumstances) and would also laugh, but when it came to narrating a blessed hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a state of fear of Allah, humility and solemnity would come over him."
