قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخَذَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَعَذَّبُوهُ ، فَقَارَبُوهُ فِي بَعْضِ مَا أَرَادُوا بِهِ ، فَشَكَا ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كَيْفَ تَجِدُ قَلْبَكَ ؟ قَالَ : مُطْمَئِنًّا بِالْإِيمَانِ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَإِنْ عَادُوا ، فَعُدْ .
( 113 ) وَسَيَأْتِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ تَعَالَى مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ ، ( بِسِيَاقٍ آخَرَ ) فِي تَفْسِيرِ سُورَةِ النَّحْلِ .

It is narrated from Abu Ubaydah bin Muhammad bin Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah have mercy on him) that the idolaters seized Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) and subjected him to brutal torture and torment; (to save his life) he agreed to some of the demands that the idolaters wanted to extract from him. Then he mentioned this situation to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "How do you find your heart?" He said: "I find it fully at rest in faith." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If they do the same to you again, then you too say those words again."
