وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا جُبَارَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَجُلًا نَادَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثًا ، كُلَّ ذَلِكَ يَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِ : " لَبَّيْكَ ، لَبَّيْكَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), that a man called out to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) three times (to get his attention), and each time he (peace and blessings be upon him), with perfect kindness and good character, kept answering him by saying: "Labbayk, labbayk" (I am here at your service, I am here in response to your call).
