قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَسَعُوا النَّاسَ بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ ، فَلْيَسَعْهُمْ مِنْكُمْ بَسْطُ الْوَجْهِ ، وَحُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ " .
2567 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ الْأَخْنَسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ بِهِ .
2567 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ الْأَخْنَسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ بِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You certainly cannot provide for (the needs of) all people with your wealth and riches, nor satisfy all of them by giving them money; so let the breadth and openness of a cheerful face and good character come from you to the people (so that they benefit from your character)."
Imam Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah narrated this hadith from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) through Abdullah bin Idris, Abdullah bin Sa'id and his grandfather; Imam Abu Ya'la also recorded it with the same text through the chain of Ahmad bin Imran al-Akhnasi, Muhammad bin Fudayl and Abdullah bin Sa'id.
